Waukesha family events include the Apple Harvest Festival at Retzer Nature Center where there are kid’s crafts and gaming areas, hiking along the many trails, rides in horse drawn wagons and numerous vendors to shop. Waukesha festivals include the Highland Games and Celtic Fling at the Waukesha Expo Center where live music, dancing, pageantry, market place and historical exhibits complement traditional Celtic games. Pewaukee events include the Labor Day water ski show on Pewaukee Lake where tricks and jumps are sure to capture anyone’s attention. Waukesha live music events are still in swing with Friday Night Live in downtown Waukesha and Oktoberfest at Weisssgerber’s Gasthaus restaurant.

Autumn on the Farms
See the draft horses as they pull logs from the woods to the steam-powered sawmill. Hear the saw scream as it turns logs into lumber. Smaller engine-powered buzz saws help the farmer provide lumber for the winter. Take a ride on a horse drawn-wagon, see gasoline engines make work easier for farm families, and watch as draft horses plow and plant winter wheat.
